When the soil is weak, the site is uneven, and there is a need to dig a lot and deep, a crawler machine is beyond competition. Low ground pressure allows it to enter areas where wheeled equipment gets stuck, while the wide base provides a stability margin when working with a heavy bucket.
- Strengths: high off-road capability on mud, sand, swampy and loose grounds; stability on slopes; greater reserve in digging force and lifting; confident operation in quarries and excavation pits.
- Weaknesses: low transport speed, the need for transport on a lowboy trailer, damage to asphalt by tracks, and more expensive logistics between sites.

Evaluate where you spend more time. If 70% of the work is on hard surfaces with frequent relocation—wheeled. If the main load is in a field, quarry, or excavation pit—crawler. There is no universal answer: the type that matches your typical conditions wins.
